The Shower Scene Fig1 This famous scene of Hitchcock's psycho works so well, its montage of cuts, its metamorphosis with the plug...
Georgia – Overall, I think this project is going in the right direction with one caveat, which is…What you wrote (in conjunction with Phil) is your animation. The Buzz Lightyear Wedding is one part of that animation. There is not enough in that sequence to make it into a full animated short. What you need to do now it storyboard your written text with animation ‘logic and economy’ in mind. What I mean by that is exactly what we discussed in terms of the Paddington method (3D Character/Card sets) alongside the possibility that you go anywhere and do anything in an animation world. That is anywhere in the sense that you can enhance the dialogue/voiceover using visuals. Each shot should enhance the dialogue not replicate it word for word. So, a scene can have a character flying through outer space and land on top of wedding cake if its relevant to the emotion of the scene. Do you remember the examples I showed you (Laura / Graeme etc)? I am encouraged by your drawings however. Your storyboards are drawn well and your character designs are a step in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteWhat you should concentrate on next is your storyboard/ animatic. That is the priority. If you need help starting that come and see me. In closing, your title is too convoluted and clumsy. I recognise that’s just a working title but it should be shorter and more a play on words. Such as.. “Beyond Me!” or “Infinite Me!” for example.
