I Spoke to Jordan and after his feedback I am now going to look at doing abstraction into structures by doing the stamps, like the custom shapes, backspaces and textures we watched today. This way I should be able to get a better understanding of the structures I'm thinking building assets and then into concept thumbnails that are more finalised and a better match style (everything). I might scan in drawings as well or instead to help or consider collage.. and the space but of course it is hard to not go generic or to go too far off course so I will keep reading back too. Also Retro Futurism as this was before futurism was seen as negative or scary and more wonderful. And the idea of balance and how the abstract forms do so, less chaotic and more melancholy? like 2001 a space odyssey at the beginning. ( Any advice or opinion is greatly appreciated questions good too. Had to upload inspiration boards separately as the file was too large for Scribd. ) will post moddboards when file is small enough.

ReplyDeleteHi Georgia,
I'm really drawn to the thumbnails on page 9 of your presentation - they convey that sense of orbit and flight and movement - and structure - and I like the courage of the colours too - looks retro-future and sci-fi - and I don't think you need to worry about that, given your artist. Maybe, for courage and conviction, you need to look at a bit of speculative sci-fi illustration to give you the confidence to push things into a more imagined realm?
